Teaching in Year 8 builds on the work accomplished in Year 7. Previously taught topics will be revisited periodically and will be built into the new subject content detailed below. Assessment opportunities will continue to be structured in the same way as Year 7 with opportunities built in for practical assessments.

At the end of Year 8, students will be set into groups for Year 9. The top set group in Year 9 will have the opportunity to study individual Sciences and therefore achieve three GCSE in Science.
